I am a print journalist and photographer, focusing on ground level, community-based storytelling.
I have written stories for news outlets such as the Arizona Daily Star and the Kansas City Star.
As a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, I am capable of not only print writing, but multimedia journalism, editing, and pitching with high productivity.
Currently I am a Fulbright Scholar and work as an English teacher in secondary school in a northern region of Spain, La Rioja. I have previously worked for over two years as a teacher to refugees and immigrants with low levels of English in the Chicagoland.
During my time with the Arizona Daily Star, I worked with migrant communities to report their stories at the southern US border during the 2025 presidential transition to the current Trump Administration.
I previously was a mixed methods research assistant in an educational policy lab, the Northwestern University Two-Generation Research Initiative. I conducted interviews with families and worked on creating educational curriculums for both children and parents to catalyze economic and social mobility.
I was born in Houston, Texas, but spent my entire childhood in Kansas City. I am functionally fluent in Spanish and native to English.
